It’s reported that Milan will not take up their option on Mattia Destro this summer, and the striker will return to Roma.

The Italian international joined the Rossoneri in January on an initial loan deal, with the option of redeeming the forward for €16m this summer.

However, Destro has scored just two goals in his time at San Siro, the last of those coming in March.

Il Messaggero reports that a decision has been made, and the 24-year-old will not return to Milanello next season, and will return to Roma when the season ends.

With Seydou Doumbia having come in, effectively as Destro’s replacement, it remains to be seen whether he will stay at Trigoria, or be moved on again.
