Now not only is he being linked with Italian giants such as Inter and Juventus, but there are claims that he may even get a European Championship call.

“I’ve always said that the Azzurri jersey is a dream, but I have to remain with my feet on the ground,” he stated.

“For now all I am thinking about is ending the season well with Siena and working hard for the Italian Under-21 side which is certainly an important stage for me.”

Destro, 21, is uncapped at full level but saw Azzurrini teammate Fabio Borini win his debut with Italy earlier this year in the 1-0 defeat to USA.
