Roma and Italy striker Mattia Destro has won comparisons with former Azzurri hotshot Christian Vieri.
“He reminds me of Bobo Vieri,” former Juventus and Italy midfielder Angelo Di Livio told Radio Mana Mana.
“He attacks space in a similar way and he has the same sort of physical attributes.”
Destro moved to the capital club in the summer after his breakout year with Siena in Serie A, but he’s found life tough in Rome.
The 21-year-old has only netted once in eight Serie A appearances and he’s lost his place in the starting line-up over recent weeks.
“I would personally give him starts because he really needs to play in order to win back the faith in himself,” Di Livio concluded.
Vieri was a much-travelled striker who had spells at Juventus, Lazio, Inter and Milan, amongst many other clubs. He scored 23 goals in 49 caps for Italy.
