Both Premier League clubs are known to be seeking reinforcements in attack and have been linked with several Serie A players.

The Hammers, in particular, failed in bids for Inter-owned Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa, Genoa hitman Krzysztof Piatek and Torino star Andrea Belotti.

According to Il Resto del Carlino newspaper, which is based in Bologna, Destro has sent agent Luca Puccinelli out to London for talks with interested Premier League sides.

These include Newcastle and West Ham, although he is also keeping an eye out for offers within Italy.

Much had been expected of Destro when he started out and Roma paid €16m to sign him from Genoa in 2012, but he never delivered.

Disappointing spells followed at Milan and currently Bologna, where he has failed to score a single goal this season in 10 competitive appearances, even if most of them were off the bench.
