“It was an important choice for me, and I’m 100 per cent convinced,” the Italian international told reporters at his presentation Press conference.

“Bologna are a great team, who want to grow and have big plans. What we hope to do will be long-lasting and beautiful.

“The welcome I received was great, you can see from that the desire of the fans to get behind the team in this project.

“I accepted from the first moment, it was just a case of ironing out the details.

“The desire to participate in an important project and to put myself at the centre of that made a difference.”
