Inter have repeatedly denied reports Icardi is on the market, although rumours of interest from Liverpool and AS Monaco persist.
According to today’s edition of Tuttosport, there could be an exchange on the horizon between Icardi and Destro.
Roma would only be prepared to release Destro if they had a suitable replacement lined up.
It would also be a return to Inter for 23-year-old Destro, who grew up in their youth academy.
Destro suffered from a lengthy knee injury, but when he did play last season he certainly made an impact, scoring 13 goals in just 20 Serie A games.
Icardi only joined Inter a year ago from Sampdoria for €12m, but is now valued closer to €30m.
The 21-year-old Argentine netted nine goals in 22 Serie A matches.
