France coach Didier Deschamps named Italy as the side that impressed him the most so far at Euro 2020.
Les Bleus will take on Switzerland in the Round of 16, while the Azzurri already booked their spot in the quarter-final after beating Austria 2-1 in extra time.
“Italy are the team who impressed me the most so far,” said former Juventus midfielder Deschamps in his press conference.
“It hasn’t been easy for us, as every game is complicated. We managed to get what we wanted in the group phase, but in a knockout round, you know it’s your last chance to achieve something.”
Italy have won their last 12 games in a row, conceding just one goal and scoring 33.
