Didier Deschamps laughed off suggestions France are “favourites” to win the World Cup after hammering Switzerland 5-2.
It was a game that could’ve had more goals, but Karim Benzema saw a penalty saved and his volley went in seconds after the final whistle.
“Winning 5-2 is something incredible and having six points after two games is ideal,” said ex-Juventus Coach Deschamps.
“We’re not qualified yet, but we do have a very good chance of going through. There is one more game to decide our fate. We prepared well for these two matches and were very effective.
“Are we the favourites for the World Cup? No, these are the opening rounds and there are still stronger teams out there.”
