France Coach Didier Deschamps felt the crucial difference between his side and Germany was “experience.”

The Germans won 1-0 in Rio de Janeiro and go into their fourth consecutive World Cup semi-final – a new record.

“They are a team who have more experience than us,” Deschamps told reporters.

“We reach the end here. I don’t regret anything, even if we had the ambition and drive to go further.

“We had the chances to equalise, but Germany scored from a free kick, which is our weak point. We tried everything to get back on track and at the end Karim Benzema had a great chance, but Manuel Neuer did a good job in goal.

“My players have been on point since the start of this World Cup. We are out, even if there wasn’t a huge difference between the two teams.”
