Sampdoria full-back Fabio Depaoli confirms he too has tested positive for Coronavirus. “This is an invisible monster that is attacking without distinction.”

He is the sixth Samp player to test positive, although a statement released by the club today warned they would not be giving any more updates, in order to avoid causing further “concern.”

However, Depaoli took to Instagram in order to announce the news himself, following teammates Manolo Gabbiadini, Omar Colley, Albin Ekdal, Antonino La Gumina and Morten Thorsby.

“Hello friends,” wrote Depaoli. “Unfortunately I am positive for COVID-19. I want to reassure you that I am fine!

“This is an invisible monster that is attacking without distinction, but by adopting the right measures and following the advice from health professionals, we can win our biggest match and return stronger than ever.

“Hugs to all the people who are contaminated and a thank you to all the medics who are helping us. STAY AT HOME!”
