Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero believes the Bianconeri will struggle to reach an agreement over Paulo Dybala’s contract extension: ‘Now it’s more difficult…’

Dybala and Del Piero are on really good terms and the former Juventus captain usually visits La Joya when he returns to Turin from the USA, where he currently lives.

Dybala sees his current deal with the Bianconeri expire at the end of the season and the two parties seem far from reaching an agreement.

Juventus and Dybala had reportedly shaken hands on a new €10m-a-year deal which, however, the Serie A giants can no longer afford.

The Bianconeri will resume talks with their striker in February, but Dybala is already eligible to sign a pre-contract agreement with any other club.

“The situation is more complicated now,” Del Piero told Sky Sport Italia.

“We saw Dybala’s struggles last season and he was supposed to leave two years ago. Changes are not favourable to go towards the future. It’s complicated, of course, it is. Otherwise, the deal would have been closed already.”

Dybala played 89 minutes in Juventus’ 0-0 draw against Milan last night.

The 28-year-old has scored 111 goals in 276 appearances with the Bianconeri since 2015.
