Stefano Del Piero, the player's brother and agent, met with Juventus director general Beppe Marotta yesterday.

However, after two hours of talks, little was finalised and they have pencilled in another appointment for sometime in the next two weeks.

It's understood that the two parties have agreed on the length of a new contract – it will be a 12-month deal – but there are differences regarding his salary.

Juventus want to offer between €1m and €1.5m in fixed wages, with various bonus options included that could see that figure rise.

Nevertheless, according to various sources on Friday, Del Piero is looking for a stable figure closer to €2.5m a year.
