The 2006 World Cup winner is a free agent after his contract with Juventus expired in June and has been linked with clubs in America, Canada, Dubai, England, Spain and France.

“I still don’t know where I will play next season. It certainly won’t be an easy decision after playing at Juventus for 19 years, but I am relaxed,” he said.

“I will begin a new adventure with my new team, always maintaining the pleasure of playing football, just as I did today.”

Del Piero was speaking at a charity match in Japan to raise funds for those affected by the earthquake and tsunami.

“I want to thank those who invited me for giving me the chance to make a small contribution, but it was important to be here not only to support those in the north of Japan, but the entire country that has always shown me great love during my career.

“I want to say thank you and I hope to return soon, as I really like your country.”
