Former captain Alessandro Del Piero said Massimiliano Allegri’s Juventus ‘are clearly recovering’ after the difficult start to the season. ‘When you don’t concede, it’s much easier to win games’.
The Bianconeri sit first in Group H with nine points in three games after a 1-0 win over Zenit St Petersburg in Russia on Wednesday.
Del Piero helped Juventus win the Champions League in 1995-96 and spent 19 years with the Old Lady between 1993 and 2012.

The World Cup winner believes Allegri has managed to turn things around swiftly after a critical start to the 2021-22 season.
“Juventus are in clear recovery in all aspects,” Del Piero told Sky Sport Italia and pointed at the defensive record in recent weeks.
The Bianconeri have picked up four 1-0 wins on the bounce and Del Piero emphasised the importance of keeping a clean sheet.
“Not conceding goals to win is the old rule, but it’s always important,” Del Piero said. “It gives awareness to your defensive phase; it gives you peace of mind.
“Juventus have the talent up front to score the goals. It’s simple match: if I sooner or later score and don’t concede, it’s much easier to win games.”
Allegri’s men have climbed to seventh in Serie A with four wins on the bounce and the three successes in the Champions League means the Bianconeri are through to the last 16 of the Champions League with another win against Zenit in Turin.
