Alessandro Del Piero is among the ex-Serie A players beginning a course to get a UEFA Pro Licence, the highest coaching certification available in Europe.

The Juventus and Italy legend joined other ex-players at Coverciano on Monday to begin the UEFA Pro License course. Del Piero had already completed the UEFA A licence course this past December.

FIGC has explained that the UEFA Pro Licence course consists of 240 hours of lessons on and off the pitch including training stages with Italian and foreign clubs.

The course will finish at the end of the campaign with exams and a thesis. Those getting their coaching badges will be eligible to take charge of Serie A and Serie B clubs.

Here are the ex-players who began the course on Monday: Ignazio Abate, Ibrahim Ba, Dagoberto Carbone, Matteo Cioffi, Gianluca Colavitto, Mirko Cudini, Alessandro Del Piero, Andrea Dossena, Tonda Mateo Eckert, Giacomo Lazzini, Jacopo Leandri, Cristian Daniel Ledesma, Simone Padoin, Marco Parolo, Giampiero Pinzi, Mirko Savini, Giuseppe Scurto, Vlado Smit, Sergio Spalla and Guglielmo Stendardo.
