Udinese Coach Gigi Del Neri admits anyone who “doesn’t get results is always in the balance” after a 3-1 defeat to Roma.

Roma were more determined than we were and that is something we really need to improve. We needed to be twice as determined as them. We could’ve played better today and allowed them too many chances.

“We didn’t play badly against Milan and Torino, while today we did create opportunities as well as scoring one at the end. We must learn to allow fewer chances to our opponents.

“We have to improve the attitude on the field, as many of our players must adapt to a new type of football for them. I understand time is limited in football and you have to get results.”

Is the club standing by Del Neri and his players after losing five out of six games?

“When a Coach doesn’t get results, he is always in the balance, but the important thing is to work calmly.”
