“We’ve been unfortunate with injuries, but hope to count on more plyers as time goes on. I am not interested in Udinese’s past record in Florence, as the Viola are difficult to face for any opponent. We want to continue the kind of performance we had to beat Sampdoria 4-0.
“We want to fight it out with a Fiorentina team that, aside from their current status in the table, remain a very good squad. We’ve set out a pathway and will get good results.”
This is an intriguing clash between Udinese and Cyril Thereau, who left the Friulani on transfer deadline day because he was not in Del Neri’s plans.
“We are playing against Fiorentina and not just him. He made his choice by leaving. He’s an important player with quality, just like Giovanni Simeone, Milan Badelj, Federico Chiesa, Jordan Veretout and Marco Benassi.
“I expect a great performance from my lads and we must work as a team.”
