“I was feeling an ankle injury which has given me problems in the past,” Defrel confessed in his post-match interview with Sky.
“I was worried but I don’t feel bad. I think I’ve hurt myself, but I managed to score anyway.
“I’m happy for all the squad, but also because I feel good here. I can give a lot and I hope I can continue here.
“[Coach Marco] Giampaolo lets me play and the medical staff have helped me a lot too. I’ve done a lot of work.
“Fabio Quagliarella? He gave me a nice assist today, but I want to do it for him too because Fabio also scores a lot.”
