Torino are closing in on their worst defensive record since patron Urbano Cairo took over and adding to their woes, Moreno Longo could be without both Armando Izzo and Lyanco against Hellas Verona.

The Corriere di Torino claims Longo have concerns at the back, as Izzo will miss the match against Verona, whilst Lyanco is in doubt.

Koffi Djidij has not impressed in recent weeks either and the Torino coach must sort out the defence to prevent setting negative records at the Grande Torino this term.

The Granata returned from Fiorentina after another defeat, their 19th in Serie A 2019-20, and Salvatore Sirigu conceded the 62nd goal of the season.

During Urbano Cairo’s reign, only Sinisa Mihajlovic’s side in 2016-17 had a worse defensive record with 66 goals conceded.

Even the side that were relegated in 2008-09 conceded 61 goals. Longo’s men have four games remaining of the season and must tighten up at the back to avoid beating Miha’s record under Cairo.

Hellas Verona, on the other hand, arrive in Turin on Wednesday, looking to turn around winless run of nine away games in Serie A.
