Sergio Conceicao will meet new Porto president Andre Villas-Boas within the next 48 hours as Milan watch on, interested in hiring the tactician.

The 49-year-old Portuguese coach is considered the leading candidate to take over from Stefano Pioli at the end of this season, signalling a new era and project for the Rossoneri following a five-year spell with countless ups and downs.

Conceicao recently signed a new four-year contract with Porto, agreed with previous president Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa, which contains a unilateral clause allowing him to terminate the deal in the summer, freeing him up to take over at Milan.

Gazzetta dello Sport details how Conceicao will meet new Porto president Villas-Boas within the next 48 hours to discuss his future, the project at the club and a possible exit in the summer. The coach’s agent Jorge Mendes is pushing for him to make the jump to Milan.

The Rossoneri have already started to draw up a contract worth around €4m net per season for the Portuguese tactician, a deal that would also be accepted by second-choice Paulo Fonseca.

There are a handful of reasons why Milan are fans of Conceicao, including his impressive CV at Porto, winning 10 trophies across seven seasons, his experience in the Champions League, his personality in the dressing room and ability to manage the pressure in the Lombardy capital.
