Daniele De Rossi doesn’t see a disparity in the levels of refereeing between Serie A and the Champions League.
There has been much controversy surrounding referees on the peninsula following Roma’s 3-2 defeat to Juventus, but De Rossi is convinced it’s the same everywhere.
“Are we better protected by referees in Europe?” considered De Rossi in his pre-match Press conference ahead of his side’s Champions League meeting with Bayern Munich tomorrow night.

“I don’t know, we’re more used to playing in Italy maybe because for one year we did not play in Europe.
“There are more games to judge in Italy and maybe we feel there are more mistakes because we play more.
“But it’s the same abroad, and we must say that the people who complain in Italy are the same ones who complain at the World Cup.
“I think the level is the same, because the officials from Italy then officiate in the Champions League.
“The decisions in Italy are sometimes more controversial and are talked about more.”
