The Supercoppa Italiana between Inter and Juventus is currently set for Saudi Arabia, but there is a dispute over the date.

The Italian Supercup had traditionally been a pre-season meeting between the Serie A title holders and the Coppa Italia winners.

In recent years, it has been moved to December or January, usually outside of Italy, with a multi-season deal struck with Saudi Arabia.

According to Calcio e Finanza, the date the Saudi authorities have requested is December 22.

However, that would be a big problem for the Lega Serie A, because there is a Serie A midweek round planned for December 21 and 22.

Juventus are currently set to face Cagliari on December 21 and Inter host Torino on December 22.

If the December 22 date for the Supercoppa is confirmed, then those two Serie A games would be postponed.

It already happened two years ago when Juventus and Lazio played close to the Christmas break, prompting the postponement of their two Serie A fixtures.
