Former Sassuolo tactician Roberto De Zerbi won his first trophy in his coaching career after Shakhtar Donetsk won 3-0 over Dynamo Kiev in the Ukrainian Super Cup.

Two goals from Traore and one from Alan Patrick secured a big win for De Zerbi’s men, as the Ukrainian giants played for the first trophy in 2021-22.

De Zerbi thus lifted his first trophy as a coach, overcoming Mircea Lucescu on Wednesday night.

The 42-year-old left Sassuolo after 2020-21 and took over at Shakhtar in May, where he has picked up 2.29 points per game so far.

Shakhtar currently sit second in Premyer-Liha, three points behind Dynamo Kiev after eight games.

De Zerbi prepares to host Simone Inzaghi in the Champions League next week, when the Nerazzurri travel to Ukraine for the second game in the group stage.
