The Neroverdi are just two points behind seventh-placed Roma, but the Giallorossi have a game in hand as they face Sampdoria away this evening.

“My dream is to finish seventh, which would mean to improve last season's result,” the coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“It’s clear Roma are on a different level, but we are two points behind and them and we’ll see what happens in this evening’s game.

Atalanta have set the trend and reached deserved results, we are trying to do the same thing," the coach continued.

“We have always faced them without fear and keeping our identity. Sometimes we faced heavy defeats, but we played a great game today.”

De Zerbi has reportedly rejected the chance to become Fiorentina coach from next season, but what has the future in store for him?

“I’ve got nothing else to add to what I said some time ago. We’ll see what happens," De Zerbi concluded.
