Turati made his debut for the Neroverdi after Sassuolo lost their two first team goalkeepers to injury. The teenager then went on to deny Juventus a victory with a string of saves, and he will remain in goal against Cagliari.
“He has to keep his feet on the ground, and he will play. He is a young lad, and he needs to remain calm," said the coach in his press conference.
“I want him to be relaxed, with the possibility to make mistakes, not to have to deal with the pressure that the media and football will put on him, but if he wants to work he will have to get use to this pressure without letting it become a big issue.”
Sassuolo went behind and then took the lead against Juventus last week, and De Zerbi hopes that performance will bolster their confidence.
“I hope it can improve our self esteem. We only took one point, so we didn’t move up the table. The performance we put in against Juve must be carried over to games against Lazio, Lecce and Bologna.”
Sassuolo face Cagliari, Serie A’s surprise package this season, so when can De Zerbi expect from the Rossoblu?
“They are fourth and this makes us understand the value of their team. It will be a difficult game because they press a lot and they are good in the air. They are also very good at counter-attacking and are physically strong.”
Cagliari’s midfielders have scored 19 goals among them this season, in contrast to Sassuolo’s four.
“Hamed Traore and Filip Djuricic could’ve scored a few more goals, but the strikers have scored a lot. Jeremie Boga has got four, Francesco Caputo and Domenico Berardi seven.
“Sure, I expect a lot of goals from the four forwards. Gregoire Defrel is still injured and I hope he will come good because he is very important to the team. Playing with only two midfielders, it’s hard for one of them to go for goal, better to leave it to the playmakers.”
