Inter and Olympique de Marseille, coached by Roberto De Zerbi, are set to hold a new round of talks in the coming week in an attempt to come to an agreement over the transfer of 2024 Copa America winner Valentin Carboni.

Inter and Marseille plan new Carboni talks

According to reports from Fabrizio Romano and Calciomercato.com, Marseille hope to close a deal for Carboni next week, but there is still a slight difference in the two clubs’ valuations.

Inter’s stance is clear in that they would rather keep hold of the 19-year-old, who is considered one of the brightest prospects in Serie A after a successful season on loan with Monza in 2023-24.

If the Nerazzurri are forced into selling the young Argentine, the price tag reportedly stands at €40m.

Marseille, however, are pushing to bring Carboni in on an initial loan deal with an option to buy in the region of €35-€36m plus bonuses.

Carboni is a player who De Zerbis has specifically requested according to Sunday’s updates.

The player is still under contract with the Nerazzurri for another four seasons, until the summer of 2028.
