Palermo Coach Roberto De Zerbi insists he won’t “compromise” his attacking style.

The Rosanero have conceded eight goals in their last two games against Torino and Roma, something which is likely to put the tactician at risk, given President Maurizio Zamparini’s itchy trigger finger.

“Every Coach has his ideas and has to try and apply them,” De Zerbi said in his pre-Udinese Press conference.

“If I try to adapt they’ll say I’m compromising, otherwise they’ll say I’m a fundamentalist. The squad doesn’t allow me to play with quick counter-attacks, so we have to try and attack the opponents in their half.

“I’m not here just to pick up my wages and the President knows that. In the last two games we’ve conceded eight, but we’ve done well before that.

“I’m sure we’ll find some balance in our play.

“I’m not going to copy my Foggia, if there’s a belief in my way of playing football then we can go on, if not then I can’t be Coach of this team.

“The lads are following me, I’m just trying to find the right formula. I didn’t build this team, they don’t have the specific features to play as I’d like to, but I’m happy to Coach them.

“I accept the criticism, but I was appointed for a reason and I’ll go on my way. We need to keep three teams below us and we have to try and succeed at any cost.”
