Sassuolo coach Roberto De Zerbi has claimed he has ‘no need to go anywhere’ and could stay with the Neroverdi ‘for 10 years’.

De Zerbi was rumoured to be looking for a top job in Italy but eventually signed a new one-year deal at the Mapei Stadium in June.

His previous contract expired after the 2019-20 campaign and Sassuolo’s impressive form this season had linked the coach with a move away from Emilia-Romagna.

“If you are anxious to go to a top club at all costs, it’s right to accept compromises,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “If you don’t have this anxiety, it’s different.

“And if it comes to me, I don’t have the need to go anywhere. I could stay at Sassuolo for 10 years, it’s not written anywhere that I will go to a top club.

“If the conditions are right, I’ll do it. Otherwise I won’t, but without problems."
