Inter defender Stefan de Vrij has recovered from COVID, according to reports in Italy.

The Dutch defender had tested positive for Coronavirus on March 18.

According to Calciomercato.com and FcInternews.it, the swab test underwent by the former Lazio defender came back negative. Therefore Antonio Conte hopes he can be eligible to play against Bologna on Saturday.

De Vrij will now undergo new medical examinations before return to training with the rest of the team and be eligible for the Stadio Dall’Ara tie.

Samir Handanovid and Matias Vecino had recovered from COVID earlier this week and Danilo D’Ambrosio remains the only Inter player still positive.

Inter will face Bologna away next weekend and host Sassuolo at the Giuseppe Meazza on Wednesday in the rescheduled fixture from matchday 28.
