Gazzetta dello Sport reported Lukaku and Brozovic had a heated discussion following the 1-1 draw on Tuesday, with the midfielder allegedly taking offence to the Belgian’s suggestion that they lacked bravery against Slavia.
“Whoever talks about these things has never been in a dressing room, there’s nothing else to say about it,” De Vrij told Sky Sport Italia.
“So many things didn’t go well, our spirit was missing and this mustn’t happen again. They had more desire to win and we weren’t precise with our play.
“We were unable to play our game, it was a disappointment.”
