Mattia De Sciglio admits he wants to stay at Lyon or move to the Premier League: ‘I’m fascinated by Chelsea.’

The Italian full-back joined Lyon on loan from Juventus this past October.

“At the beginning, I had doubts about this new experience, by I've changed my mind quickly. Lyon are a great club and it’s no coincidence they eliminated Juventus and Manchester City from the Champions League last season,” the 28-year-old told Tuttosport.

“At the beginning, I had doubts about this new experience, by I've changed my mind quickly. Lyon are a great club and it’s no coincidence they eliminated Juventus and Manchester City from the Champions League last season,” the 28-year-old told Tuttosport.

“I’d like to stay here at Lyon. I feel well on and off the pitch. Alternatively, I’d like to try a new experience abroad, possibly in England.

“I am fascinated by the Premier League and Chelsea, but right now, I am only focused on the last part of the season. We want to leapfrog Monaco and qualify for the Champions League play-offs.”

The product of Milan academy still hopes to receive an Italy call-up for Euro 2020.

“I moved abroad also to have more chances to get an Italy call-up. I haven’t talked to Roberto Mancini, but I don’t give up and I hope I can get a call-up.”

His teammate Memphis Depay will see his contract expire at the end of the season, and both Juventus and Barcelona are reportedly interested in securing his services.

“It’s normal that he’s been linked with such big clubs,” De Sciglio admitted.

“He would do well at Juventus. We’ve spoken about Serie A football in general, not about Juventus specifically.”
