Morgan De Sanctis has officially retired as a goalkeeper with Monaco and joined Roma as their new team manager.
The 40-year-old shot-stopper hung up his gloves today, although the decision had been in the air for several weeks.
His contract with Monaco expired on July 31 and tomorrow he will begin work at Roma’s Trigoria training camp.
He’ll be the bond between Coach Eusebio Di Francesco, the club and the players.

Monaco saluted De Sanctis with a statement on their club website, wishing him the best and thanking him for being “an affectionate, smiling and talented person to have around.”
