Morgan De Sanctis tips Milan for the Scudetto, Napoli for a top five finish and himself for a spot at Euro 2012.

The goalkeeper is on the form of his life at the moment and proved decisive in taking the Partenopei to the last 16 of the Champions League.

“My most important save was on Mario Balotelli when beating Manchester City at the San Paolo. The second was on Mario Gomez against Bayern Munich. That night I parried a penalty that otherwise could’ve sent us down to a defeat.

“From now until European competition begins again, we have nine matches to play and want to do as much as possible. Our objective remains to finish in the top five,” he told the Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Milan are the favourites for the Scudetto, as they clearly have the strongest squad. Sooner or later they will have that sprint to leave everyone else behind.”

De Sanctis is regularly called up for international duty, though many criticise this decision by Cesare Prandelli.

“I got angry with those who proposed themselves for the job or the Coaches who said their goalkeepers should be called. Therefore I decided to provoke them and said: fine, propose all you like, but tell me to my face who ought to be dropped. Obviously, I received no replies. I’m calm, anyway.

“I have known Gigi Buffon since we were both in the Under-17 side in 1994. I hope we’ll still be together at Euro 2012.”
