The midfielder went on to join Boca Juniors, but injuries have hampered his spell in Argentina so far.

Now, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Giallorossi are revolutionising their youth sector and want two personnel manning it.

One of them would be Bruno Conti, looking after the Under-15s, while they hope the other is Alberto De Rossi – currently in charge of their Primavera team – to oversee the older age groups.

As per the newspaper, Alberto’s promotion will open up a vacancy that his son could well fill.

De Rossi plans to venture into coaching once he ends his playing career, although he has made no suggestion of when that will be.
