José Mourinho said a few months ago that he wanted to bring Daniele De Rossi to Inter and Real Madrid and Francesco Totti to the Stadio Meazza and the former midfielder liked a recent Instagram post reporting Mou’s claims.

A Mourinho interview with Italian YouTuber OHN from eight months ago has become trending again in Italy these days. The popular Instagram page Cronache di Spogliatoio reported on it.

During that interview, Mourinho spoke about the players he had wanted to coach in his career, mentioning two Roma legends.

“To stay in the Roma theme, I would’ve liked to have [Daniele] De Rossi at Inter and Real Madrid, but it was not possible,” he said.

“I also wanted [Francesco] Totti at Inter, despite his age at the time, but it was not possible either. These are players I always wanted in my career.”

Cronache di Spogliatoio reported Mourinho’s words, and De Rossi liked their post.

The former Roma midfielder and coach was sacked by the Giallorossi in September and replaced by Ivan Juric.

De Rossi was in the stands at the Stadio Olimpico yesterday to watch Italy’s 2-2 draw against Belgium.

His ex-teammate Totti has recently admitted that DDR was ‘disappointed’ by how Roma directors and owners treated him, sacking him suddenly after just four Serie A matches in the 2024-25 campaign.

De Rossi had replaced Mourinho in the Roma dugout in January 2024.
