Paulo Dybala is on the verge of joining Saudi Pro League side Al-Qadsiah, but Roma coach Daniele De Rossi expects five new signings now, reports Il Corriere dello Sport,
Argentinean star Dybala is close to joining Al-Qadsiah after accepting a three-year offer worth €75m. Talks between the two clubs are still ongoing, but the player is ready to pack his suitcase and join the Saudi Pro League side.
Dybala’s exit will give Roma financial resources to complete the team with more new signings. According to Il Corriere dello Sport, De Rossi and director Florent Ghisolfi hope to bring at least five new players to the Stadio Olimpico before August 30.
Which players Roma want to sign after Dybala’s sale
Lens’ defender Kevin Danso is the latest name mentioned for the Roma defence. His price tag is close to €20m, while Juventus‘ Tiago Djalo would be less expensive. Roma, however, may need to sell Chris Smalling before signing both centre-backs.
De Rossi on what would ‘frighten’ him about Roma losing Dybala
The Giallorossi’s priority remains a new right-back. Rennes’ Lorenz Assignon is the primary target and according to Corriere dello Sport, the two clubs have a principle of agreement for a loan with an obligation to buy for €11m and only the final details have to be fixed.
Roma will need a replacement for Dybala as well. Atletico Madrid demand €30m for Rodrigo Riquelme, so Roma are also following Edon Zhegrova and Jeremie Boga. The latter has already agreed to personal terms with the Giallorossi but is not the first option on Ghisolfi’s agenda. Last but not least, there are ongoing talks with Napoli‘s Cyril Ngonge.
As for central midfielder, Roma are still considering selling Edoardo Bove to afford the signing of Boubakary Soumaré from Leicester City.
