Daniele De Rossi feels that Artem Dovbyk is settling in well at Roma and insists that ‘strong players’ will join the club when others leave.

De Rossi spoke about Roma’s pre-season and transfers during interviews with Gazzetta and Corriere dello Sport.

New signing Dovbyk started the first game in a Giallorossi shirt on Sunday against Everton, and De Rossi seemed happy about the striker’s contribution.

“He did well. We can play vertically with him, which is what we need,” said the ex-midfielder.

De Rossi gives verdict on Dovbyk and makes Roma transfer prediction

“Without somebody who stretches the opponents, ball possession is too sterile, and we are predictable. We must be ready to play, go vertical, and surprise the opponents.”

Does De Rossi expects two or three more signings?

“We must see which opportunities we have and if anybody wants to leave. If we decide to add more players, we’ll do as we’ve already done,” he replied.

“Obviously, some players already know they’ll leave, permanently or on loan. Somebody will leave because they deserve the space that we can’t offer them. We’ll see what happens in these weeks. If somebody leaves, we’ll sign strong players; I am sure about it.”

During the same interview, De Rossi said no players, including Paulo Dybala, are unsellable at the Stadio Olimpico.
