Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi refused to discuss the club’s objectives for the season ahead of their International Champions Cup clash with Manchester City.

The Italy international explained his disappointment at the Giallorossi’s failure to mount a title challenge last season and underlined that tactical systems don’t worry him.

“To talk about objectives now would be to take advantage of me and I’ve had enough,” he said at a Press conference.

“Now the important thing is to play to win. Last year we tried to improve, it didn’t happen, but we achieved a great final result.

“We’re working to take the next step. It’s a high wall in front of us, but we’re working seriously.

“I’m very happy with how I’ve found the team and I get along very well with the Coach and my teammates.

“I’ve played in both a two-man and three-man midfield. We are here and available for any tactical change, the system is the least of my problems.”
