Marten de Roon has claimed Atalanta are ready to face Ajax in Champions League tomorrow, adding he doesn’t think about transfer rumours linking him with Barcelona.

La Dea face Ajax away on Wednesday. A win or a draw would be enough for the Serie A side to qualify for the last-16 stage of the Champions League.

“It’s always nice to go back to Holland, even though I grew up in Rotterdam,” De Roon said at a press conference.

“I’m here for one thing, to qualify for the next stage. Then we’ll see everything else.

"Unfortunately, I don’t score many goals, I never scored against Ajax. It would be great to do it tomorrow, but the important thing remains the result," he continued.

“It’s not important who will score, but only the result."

Atalanta didn’t play their Serie A game on Sunday due to waterlogged pitch at Udinese’s Dacia Arena.

"We will be very rested but I prefer to play continuously, let’s say every 4-5 days. So, I don’t know if it will be an advantage, physically we are well we saw it in the other games too. Tomorrow we must be ready and we will be ready.”

The 29-year-old is being linked with a move to Barcelona.

“I have no comments to make, I’m focused on Atalanta. I’m fine here, the family is happy. I didn’t think about the market rumours.”
