The game was decided deep into stoppages when Alvaro Morata came off the bench and nodded in a Juan Cuadrado cross, after Cristiano Ronaldo had cancelled out the Myrto Uzuni opener.
This result, and Barcelona’s 3-1 victory away to Dynamo Kiev, means both Juve and the Blaugrana have already booked their place in the Round of 16 with two games to spare.
“It was very complicated, as Ferencvaros did very well, played very tight and it was difficult to find players between the lines,” De Ligt told Sky Sport Italia.
“The important thing was to speed the ball up, play with more courage, and we didn’t create enough chances.
"I made a mistake on their goal, but we have a lot of technical quality in the team, so when we don’t move the ball quickly enough and play it short, it makes it easier for the opposition.”
