Juventus winger Dejan Kulusevski nodded home the winner against Zenit St Petersburg on Wednesday and Matthijs de Ligt revealed he has ‘worked on headers’ with the Swede.

The Old Lady left it late in Russia, when Kulusevski came off the bench to nod in Mattia De Sciglio’s cross and give Max Allegri’s men another 1-0 win in the Champions League.

Champions League | Zenit 0-1 Juventus: Kulusevski to the rescue

Juventus have picked up three wins in three games and are first in Group H and De Ligt said he has helped 21-year-old Kulusevski working on his headers, but revealed he has ‘also learned’ from Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo, who left Juventus this summer.

“I have worked a lot with Dejan on headers and he also learned from Cristiano Ronaldo,” De Ligt told JTV.

“We defend a lot better at the moment, we close with 11 players and we have improved a lot.”

Juventus are unbeaten in eight competitive games and have kept four clean sheets on the bounce.

De Ligt admitted the Bianconeri ‘must improve’ further, but stressed Max Allegri’s men are on ‘the right path’ after a difficult start.

“It’s the right path,” he said. “But we have to improve even more. It’s a good period for us, but now we must continue like this.”
