According to La Gazzetta Dello Sport, Matthijs de Ligt and Mattia De Sciglio showed investigators Giorgio Chiellini’s Whatsapp message to Juventus players about the salary agreement with the club.

Juventus and 11 directors have been recommended for trial for alleged false accounting and false communication to the market. The Turin prosecutor believes the Old Lady falsified their balance sheet with inflated transfer values and wages paid to footballers under the table after the COVID pandemic.

In March 2020, during the peak of the COVID pandemic, Chiellini informed Juventus players through Whatsapp that the club needed to freeze wages for four months and according to Gazzetta, investigators were able to see the message thanks to Matthijs de Ligt and Mattia De Sciglio who were heard by the Turin Prosecutor this past March along with other teammates.

Juventus players allegedly confirmed an agreement with the club which would allow them to give up to just one month’s salary, but Chiellini denied he warned them not to talk to the press about the deal.

  2. Disgraceful and Don Moggi would never have let rats rat out the rats. The walls are not closing in on the 7/9 as I am sure they will bribe someone off if it comes to the crunch.

  3. Rats indeed. They all knew they were breaking the rules, but now they are cooperating to save their own skins.
