De Leo says Bologna must be wary of Eugenio Corini’s men.

“They are organised and determined, they play well, their game patterns are often effective,” said De Leo in his press conference.

“We will have to be good at staying tight and compact, able to get out quickly and bring the ball to the areas where we can bring our best individual qualities into play.”

The Rondinelle have won more points on the road than at home.

“They have always shown that they are a team with a precise identity and they know how to be compact.

“We will have to be good at dominating the game and ending their counterattacks as quickly as possible.”

Sinisa Mihajlovic won’t be at the game, as the coach has returned to hospital for several days as he continues his battle with leukaemia, and De Leo says Mihajlovic should win the Panchina d’Oro this season.

“We hope he wins it, yes. It would not be a symbolic thing related to his illness but it would be an acknowledgement of the work done on the pitch.”

Blerim Dzemaili left the Rossoblu on the final day of the transfer window to join Shenzhen FC in the Chinese Super League, and De Leo spoke of his gratitude towards the player.

“On behalf of all the staff I want to thank Dzemaili, who has left for China.

“He always made himself available to the coach and to the technical staff. He has given us a great technical and human contribution.

“Thanks to Blerim and good luck.”
