Bologna assistant manager Emilio De Leo said the wild celebrations in their 2-1 win over Atalanta showed the "togetherness between the team and staff."
The Rossoblu pulled off a shock result, beating an Atalanta side that have reached the last 16 of the Champions League, with goals from Rodrigo Palacio and Andrea Poli.
“There was an accumulation of frustration over previous results, not because of cracks in the unity of the squad," insisted Sinisa Mihajlovic's assistant in a press conference.
“The negative results were weighing on us, and so when Poli scored we all embraced, and this symbolises the togetherness between the team and the staff.”
Bologna haven’t hit the same heights as the second half of last season, but De Leo says they are getting there.
“I think we need consistency in our performances. Even against Lazio and Napoli we conceded goals, but we put in great displays.
“Today we have revitalised certain characteristics that must always be ours, even if I don’t think they have been missing in other games.
“At the end of the first half he asked to continue with his game plan that he’d studied and to fix the details that hadn’t gone according to plan. He congratulated himself because he saw the team compact and solid.”
