“In the first half we should have showed more cynicism. We conceded the goal due to being naïve and in general we could’ve been more lucid,” explained De Leo in the post-game conference.
De Leo states that Bologna’s plans were affected by Bani’s red card and the injury to Nicola Sansone.
“The plan was for Rodrigo Palacio to replace Federico Santander, then the red card and Sansone’s injury conditioned our tactics.
“The choice to keep three offensive players was a reading of the situation by the coach which unfortunately wasn’t successful but was to convey the desire to keep attacking.”
De Leo was full of praise for Lukasz Skorupski, who saved thwarted Verona several times during the game.
“I think Lukasz played a great game and gave us a hand. He also had a fever yesterday.”
