“Gonzalo Higuain? He’s an extraordinary person and very intelligent. He married a Neapolitan girl.
“I wasn’t wrong to hang on to [Marek] Hamsik, who had been undervalued. Now that the new Coach has put the smile back on his face we’re reaping the benefits.”
The patron also spoke about the running of the club, believing that the way Napoli are managed is an example to the rest of the League.
“Napoli is a symbol of good management. In a national recession we’ve always been driving forward.
“That said, it’s complicated to work in the context of Naples and Italy.”
Finally, the film mogul discussed tonight’s Europa League test against Midtjylland.
“We’re perhaps going in colder than them as we didn’t start our campaign in July,” De Laurentiis mused.
“The only advantage we have tonight is a deeper squad than them. The match shouldn’t be underestimated and the lads are preparing in the best way.”
