Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis pledged to shave his beard for the Champions League and insists he's “rock-solid calm” about Walter Mazzarri.

On Sunday night they face a showdown with Inter, but have to do without the suspended Edinson Cavani and Giuseppe Mascara.

“I expect Pocho Lavezzi to be frenetic as a centre-forward, but we'll have to see who completes the trident,” said De Laurentiis on Radio Marte.

“Let us leave the choice to Mazzarri, as he knows what he's doing and nobody understands this team like he does. I am rock-solid calm with him and the fans should be too.

“I hope my players put in a memorable performance and take what they need to walk into the Champions League through the main door. A preliminary round would mess up our pre-season plans.

“The fans have been fantastic this season and in their minds are already in Europe. I thank them for that gift.”

Napoli need one more point to be mathematically certain of direct entry into the Champions League, ending a 21-year wait.

“Could I shave off my beard if we reach the Champions League? If the people ask me to, then that's not a problem. Get 10,000 supporters to say so and I'll do it!”

The President also has plans to revamp the Stadio San Paolo, which is sold out for Sunday's Inter game.

“We can do a great deal to improve it and bring Napoli's stadium up to a world-class standard.”
