Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has promised his squad a ‘gift’ should they win the Scudetto this season.
The Partenopei are currently on track to win their first league title since the days of Diego Maradona and sit 13 points clear of second place Inter after 20 games.
With 18 games left to play, Luciano Spalletti’s side are now the hot favourites to win the Scudetto this year and only an otherworldly collapse in the coming months could derail their plans.
As reported by La Repubblica Napoli, De Laurentiis has ensured his Napoli squad that they would receive bonuses should the team win the league title this season.
Currently, only Spalletti has a Scudetto clause in his contract, meaning there were no guarantees that the players would be financially rewarded.
Other bonuses are also on the horizon for the Partenopei; reaching the quarter-finals of the Champions League would activate bonus and qualifying for next year’s edition of the competition would activate another.
