Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis broke his silence to praise Coach Rafa Benitez, director Riccardo Bigon and the players.
The patron had been in America for several weeks dealing with his primary job, which is as a Hollywood movie producer, but visited the training ground this morning.
He released a statement via the club website and also wrote on his personal Twitter account.
“De Laurentiis, who had already congratulated the players for their recent performances on the phone yesterday, wanted to do so personally with Benitez and his collaborators.
“The President, in taking note of the season so far, gave credit to Benitez and Bigon for helping to grow the self-confidence and tenacity of the group. From Los Angeles he was able to see that this squad never gives up to the very end.”
De Laurentiis also wrote on Twitter that Benitez “is doing a great job with the squad that is growing day by day without letting go until the end.
“I am also very happy with all the lads who are proving how much they care about the jersey by working with great professionalism.”
