Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis can’t rule out Kalidou Koulibaly’s departure – “time will tell”.

The centre-back has declared his intention to leave the Vesuviani this summer, with Everton and Chelsea both linked.

“Time will tell,” De Laurentiis said in a Press conference from Dimaro.

“He still has three years on his contract…

“Manolo Gabbiadini? I’d like him to stay, I really like the lad.”

The centre-back has declared his intention to leave the Vesuviani this summer, with Everton and Chelsea both linked.

“Time will tell,” De Laurentiis said in a Press conference from Dimaro.

“Manolo Gabbiadini? I’d like him to stay, I really like the lad.”

Gonzalo Higuain’s brother and agent has declared that the Partenopei’s project is behind his client’s decision not to renew, and De Laurentiis hit back.

“The strategies and the people with whom he speaks and negotiates are nothing to do with me, but there’s a clause whereby players can be punished if they violate confidentiality, and some statements shouldn’t be made.

“We’ve been in Europe for seven years, bringing in players like [Marek] Hamsik, [Edinson] Cavani, [Ezequiel] Lavezzi and Higuain. You say we’re not at the top, so why did you send your brother here?

“It here that he got back to what he was, he reawakened with 36 goals, 38 in the season, despite the matches he was banned for.

“If he has other motivations, signals being sent to third parties to get deals done… Only Higuain’s brother can answer that.

“Does his release clause have an expiry date? That’s a private matter, I can’t answer that.

“Why the €94m? It’s a figure which was established three years ago. I take a player for €40m from Real Madrid and I’m not supposed to protect myself?”

Even if Gonzalo Higuain does leave the club, Edinson Cavani won’t be returning from Paris Saint-Germain to replace him.

“He’s already said he doesn’t get along with me,” De Laurentiis pointed out.

“I don’t know why, maybe I sold him too well and they expected too much from him in Paris…”
